Sean Considine - Iowa Hawkeye (00-04)

Sean like so many other former Hawkeye standouts came to Iowa as a walk-on and red-shirt freshman. He caught the attention of Hawkeye coaches and fans through his hard work, hustle and game changing plays on special teams. Just as he did at Iowa throughout his college career, Sean demonstrated his talents and gained the respect of the Philadelphia Eagles coaching staff with his outstanding plays on special teams throughout his rookie season. Sean's special teams play paid off with huge dividends in his second year with the Philadelphia Eagles as it earned him a spot as the Eagles Strong Safety. He finished the year with 107 tackles (66 solo) and 26 special teams tackles, in addition to 1.5 sacks, one interception, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. He started at strong safety in the Eagles' wild card victory against the New York Giants, as well as the divisional playoff game against the New Orleans Saints, recording 13 tackles, five solo, during the playoffs. In 2009, Sean now starts at Strong Safety for the Jacksonville Jaguars. So far in 2009, Sean has battled through some injurues but has played in 10 of the 15 Jaguar games and has recorded 35 tackles and intercepted his first pass of the season against the Buffalo Bills in Week 11.
