Jonathan Hayes - Iowa Hawkeye (81-84)

After coming to the Iowa Hawkeyes as a linebacker in 1981, Hayes converted to the Tight End position. It proved to be the right decision when he was selected as a First Team All-American his Senior year and that paved the way for him to be selected in the 2nd Round of the 1985 NFL Draft. He was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs and played with them for 9 seasons including as a team captain at the end of his time there. He then played 3 more seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and finished with career totals of 153 receptions for 1718 yards and 13 touchdowns. He transitioned into coaching a couple years after retiring when he joined the Oklahoma Sooners coaching staff as an Assistant Coach in charge of Tight Ends and Special Teams from 1999-2002. He left the Sooners in 2003 for a job with the Cincinnati Bengals, and remains their Tight Ends Coach today.
