Charles Godfrey was selected with the 4th overall pick in the 3rd round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. In 2008, Godfrey started in all 16 games as a rookie for the Panthers at Free Safety and recorded 61 tackles, 1 sack, 1 interception and 1 Forced Fumble. In 2009, Godfrey battled an ankle injury early but has played in 11 games while starting 10 of them. He has recorded 43 tackles with 3 forced fumbles and 1 interception so far. If Godfrey can continue to improve and stay healthy he should find himself as a perennial starter in the NFL for many years to come.
