After being a 3 year starter for the Hawkeyes at Running Back, Young is one of only 3 Hawkeyes to rush for over 3000 yards. He went undrafted but was signed to the Minnesota Viking Practice Squad in 2008. In 2009, he was in a battle for the 3rd Running Back position on the roster and beat out Ian Johnson to make the team. Unfortunately he is 3rd on the depth chart behind one of the best RB's in the league in Adrian Peterson. He played in the first 4 games of the 2009 season but was listed as inactive until Week 15, when he got his first touches of the season, rushing 2 times for 13 yards.
